The course aims to ensure students gain a comprehensive knowledge of interactions among historical narratives, collective memory, identity (national and cultural) and political changes. Students will be able to acquire a systemic knowledge of concepts and theories applied in memory studies, and its main characteristics. Theoretical and conceptual issues will be addressed as part of case studies. Emphasis will be made on the Georgian case, which will be viewed in a comparative, regional (Caucasian, Central and Eastern Europe) perspective.
