The course aims to help students develop academic writing skills, which includes formulating valid research strategies; building arguments and critique, incorporating evidence and presenting findings; reviewing research literature and structuring an academic text, including a research paper, by observing conventions of academic writing; avoiding plagiarism and using citations and references; employing respective stylistic conventions and discipline-specific terminology. The course has been designed for researchers specializing in 19th- and 20th-century history.
