It seeks to help students develop analytical and research skills by requiring them to work with West European, Russian and Georgian primary sources; familiarize them with best European scholarship available regarding the issue; examine the relationship between Caucasian political forces and peoples, history of conflicts, their roots and causes; explore the evolution of the Caucasian peoples from the late Feudal period to the 21<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> century.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will be familiarized with contradictory nationalistic historiographic narratives created by regional nations and the impact of such narratives on politics.
