Gabriel Chubinidze, a student of the Master's program in Modern History of Georgia is the winner of Farig's annual essay competition

Gabriel Chubinidze – a student at Ilia State University’s MA Program in Modern History of Georgia was awarded a Farig annual essay prize.

Gabriel wrote his article Autonomy of Abkhazia and the Democratic Republic of Georgia at our program, he won the prize and he was granted a 500 GBP premium.

Farig is a scholarly charity foundation that was established in 2000. It aims to support young scholars of Georgian studies. Farig annual essay prize is targeted at under 40 scholars and one prize is issued annually.

Farig is chaired by Professor Emeritus at the University of Oxford – Michael Vickers; Treasurer is Professor at the University of Oxford – Edmund Herzig. The Committee members come from Oxford and other leading universities of the UK.
