An Academic Discussion August War Lessons

In connection with the 12th anniversary of the Russian-Georgian war started on 8 August 2008, the Ilia State University holds an academic discussion “August War Lessons”.
The discussion will be organized by the ISU Master-Level Programme in Modern Georgian History.

Author of articles “Russia Resurgent? Moscow’s Campaign to ‘Coerce Georgia to Peace” and “The Russian Case for Military Intervention in Georgia: International Law, Norms and Political Calculation”
- Stephen Jones, Professor at Mount Holyoke College (US) and co-supervisor of the ISU Master’s Program in Modern History of Georgia
Author of the book “Georgia: A Political History Since Independence”
- Ronald Grigor Sunny, Professor at the University of Michigan, visiting lecturer at the ISU Master’s Program in Modern History of Georgia
Author of the book “The Making of the Georgian Nation.”
